Shop your way for affordable fashion!
Yikes, summer school vacation is almost over and it’s time to think about Back to School. It’s been a busy week but Liv (short for Olivia) and I found time Thursday to head out to Bangor and go shopping at Sears. We had already visited the SearsStyle site and checked out all the latest affordable fashion from Sears. It gave us a chance to form a plan as to what we wanted to look for when we got there. We didn’t leave until noon time as it was her last day at “Dance Camp” where they had a closing recital. So after she was done with her recital, we headed out to Sears in the Bangor Mall.
Sears was well stocked for Back to School and I have to say that Sears Fashion for girls in Liv’s size and age group is spot on. There was plenty of affordable fashion that any 4th grade girl would love. She had a ball!
We shopped for back packs, T-shirts, jeans, and more. What I love about Sears is that it is well stocked with affordable fashion for the entire family. When it was time to do “Back to School” shopping, it was the first stop for me. When trying on all those cool outfits a girl can work up an appetite, so after we finished shopping we headed over to the Oriental Jade restaurant for their lunch buffet. Of course, we girls had to have a Shirley Temple (or two).
When we got home, it was time to check out her loot and try a few things on. The bag full of Sears fashions is almost as big as Liv is.
One of Liv’s favorite things was her new backpack. Next year her school system loans out an Apple iPad to each child. This backpack from High Sierra Swerve has an “integrated media pocket” to keep the iPad safe. In fact it was loaded with pockets so she can organize all her school supplies. And the padded VAPEL™ mesh shoulder straps are strong yet very comfortable. She chose this orange backpack in the Prairie Fields pattern. It will be easy to pick her out of the crowd with it on.
What 4th grade girl doesn’t love Hello Kitty! Sears had lots of Hello Kitty merchandise much to Liv’s delight. We got a Hello Kitty backpack and T-shirt.
There were two items that Liv liked that were out of stock in Liv’s size so when we got home we went online to the Sears website and ordered them there. The site is very easy to use and we got reward points on the site just like we did for our in-store purchases. What are Sears Reward Points, you ask? The “Shop Your Way Reward Points Program” is a great free program that Sears has for it’s “best” customers. As a Shop Your Way Rewards Member, you earn points when you shop at Sears. Then you redeem those points online or in store at Sears. The more you shop, the faster your points and special benefits pile up. It’s a simple, fun and exciting way to shop. I just joined and already I have over 30,000 points. They add up quick! You can join right in the store with the help of your cashier or you can go online and sign up at the Sears website.
Follow Sears on Twitter to be kept up to date on sales, specials, and the latest fashion news! And be sure to check out Sears on Facebook and become a Fan.
One of the items Liv wanted was the Tshirt below.
There are so many families that are going through tough times in these unstable economic times. It’s important to teach our children about gratitude for the blessings they have in their life, and generosity by giving to those in need. After church today, Liv and I stopped by the church office and gave a backpack and T shirt to the Pastor’s wife, Joann Adams, for the church to give to a needy family in the community. Liv felt really good after doing this. It was a great life lesson.
