It’s Wicked Good Wednesday in Rainy Maine!

June 12, 2013 by Sheryl Thompson 10 Comments

It’s miserable rainy Wednesday here in Maine following a miserable rainy Tuesday.  This has been such a cold dreary spring.  The ground is spongy and soaked.  That’s not good for the garden, and the cold weather isn’t conducive to growing either.   The bright spot of this week will have to be the Blog Party so here are the favorites from last week.

For DIY posts, the DIY Chicken Coop Flower Box post, from the Chicken Chick, was the favorite with the most clicks.  Actually this flower box would work in a number of applications.

For the most popular of the crafty posts, Washi Tape Photo Frame from Life in Ryans’, is a very timely project.  What a great way to refurbish a rather ordinary frame for a Fathers Day gift with a favorite photo for Dad!

A very important part of gardening is making sure the flowers get pollinated so there was a lot of interest in “Beekeeping 101” from Making Our Sustainable Life.  Last week Bill took ride to the coast and we went through the Washington County blueberry barrens.  Its amazing the number of hives the blueberry farmers put in the fields to be sure that they have a good blueberry harvest.

In the recipe category, we have Homemade Sriracha from Happy Valley Chow, an exotic hot sauce that you can make yourself.  Sounds very warm and a tasty condiment to add to dishes that need to be kicked up a bit!

And finally, our weekly inspiration “Smile and Pass It On” from Darlene Nemeth, is bound to put a smile on your face.  Who wouldn’t smile with a cutie like this grinning at you!

Remember the rules!

1. Only family friendly posts – no adult content, posts with offensive language, please!

2. No Etsy shops, Ebay auctions, give-aways,  blatant selling & marketing, or other Linky Parties.  We WANT informative posts featuring recipes, crafts, DIY, parenting tips, kids activities, and family fun.  Sponsored posts are fine if they contain information that benefits the reader with a creative or learning experience.

3. Please visit other links and leave a comment.  Share the “Linky Love”! And be sure to “like” your favorite post!

It’s Time To Party!

Thanks for hosting today! I’m glad you sent the reminder letter as I forgot to link up. I usually link up Tuesday night and your linky party wasn’t open, so I forgot by this morning, lol!

Sorry about your rain. We are getting lots of sunshine here in California. Last Saturday we got too much – 110 degrees in the shade! Woowee it was hot! Thanks for having this nice hop. I added two this week, one about our white and red carrots and potatoes and the other about a solar system we set up for the trailer we have parked up on our future homestead. See you next week!
