Dog Food and Cat Food Like You’d Make It Yourself #InspiredByCrafted

I've always been creative.  For years I made my living as a Folk Artist and was fortunate enough to have a decent amount of success at it. I painted under the pseudonym Grammy Mouse and  my images appeared on greeting cards and in home décor prints like the one below called New England Retreat. I painted custom house portraits like this one I did for a family in Connecticut.  I don't paint for a living any more but still enjoy being creative.  My asthma and COPD react to the acrylic paint fumes … [Read More...]

4th of July Patriot Pie – Apples, Blueberries, Raspberries – Yum!

4th of July Patriot Fruit Pie - incredibly delicious with a red, white and blue touch! I always make this recipe on the 4th of July and it's afamily favorite all summer long.  But in July the berries are abundant here in Maine, so all the berries are fresh and yummy.  And those delicious, fresh juicy berries make this pie the yummiest, plus you have the fun of picking them yourself.  Throw on a scoop of Maine-made Giffords Vanilla Ice Cream and you are talking Downeast culinary heaven! … [Read More...]

“This post is part of a social shopper marketing insight campaign with Pollinate Media Group®, Birds Eye®, and Tyson® but all my opinions are my own. #pmedia #FastFreshFilling Summer Microwave Cooking with Birds Eye and Tyson - Really Cool! "Hot town, summer in the city, Back of my neck getting dirty & gritty" As the classic song says, keeping and cooking cool in the summer can be difficult! But the family has to eat and feeding them is part of my job … [Read More...]

Steak Roulades with Celery Stuffing Recipe

Stuffed Steak Roulades - great from the oven and they freeze easily too! Stuffed Steak Roulades is a tasty recipe and it uses an economically priced cut of meat - flank steak.  But another plus factor with this recipe is that I can double it and freeze half of it for a quick meal on those days when I am really pressed for time. Back in the day when I worked full-time and had 3 boys and hubby to feed each night, I used to use the freezer meal option a lot.  I would designate 2 Saturdays a … [Read More...]

Artisan Crafted Small Batch Dog Food by Hill’s® #InspiredbyCrafted – Made the Way you would!

Dog Food & Cat Food Made the Way you would (if you had the time!) My pets are incredibly important to me.  First, the cats and the dogs are members of our family.  When they're happy, we're happy and when they hurt, we hurt.  So keeping them happy and healthy is just as important as keeping the two-legged members of the family happy and healthy.  Secondly, our dogs are very valuable parts of our business that we have invested a tremendous amount of time, effort, training, and money … [Read More...]

Bringing up your new puppy with #MyPuppyHood

Get your new puppy off to a great start with #MyPuppyHood As a German Shepherd Dog breeder, one of my biggest concerns is getting my puppies into good forever homes where they will be loved, well cared for and become part of a caring family.  Particularly with first time puppy owners, I spend a great deal of time pre-screening them for the perfect love match so that puppies I am responsible for bringing into this world do not end up homeless or in a shelter.  After the new families are … [Read More...]

Sugared Asparagus Recipe -another way to use a spring favorite!

Sugared Asparagus - a delicious asparagus recipe from my past I'm always looking for different ways to serve asparagus and this sugared asparagus recipe  is a keeper. I found it a few years back in a folder of my mother's recipes.  It sounded so different and the prep was so easy I had to try it. Grow your own asparagus - you'll notice the difference! I love asparagus so much that we put in our own bed of it a few years back.  Harvesting asparagus in the spring is one of the joys of … [Read More...]

Slow Cooker Cranberry Pork Roast Recipe

Slow Cooker Cranberry Pork Roast Recipe -set it and forget it! Cooking a roast in the summer, like this Slow Cooker Cranberry Pork Roast, could make for an unbearably hot kitchen.  But cooking the pork roast in your slow cooker allows you to keep your kitchen temp reasonable, have a nice main dish ready and you don't have to babysit it.  It's cooking while you're out there living your busy life and is already when you and the family are for your evening meal.  I love grilling in the summer but … [Read More...]

Apple Spinach Salad

Apple Spinach Salad is Quick and Easy and oh so nutritious! Whether its summer or winter, this Apple Spinach Salad is a tasty and nutritious, and very quick to make.  When I plan a meal, I like to include a salad side dish to add texture and freshness to the menu.  And frankly, the same old standard tossed salad gets boring so I try to mix things up by trying new salad combos.  The spinach i , of course, on the tart side so the apples should be a crisp but also sweet eating apple.  For this … [Read More...]

Cat Food That’s Carefully Selected To Nourish and To Please #InspiredbyCrafted

To say that the "Cat Boys" aka Chuckles and CJ are finicky about their cat food is to greatly understate the problem!  They remind me of Mikey, the kid from the old Life Cereal commercials who didn't like anything, as they are so resistant to a change in their diet that they will turn their little black noses up at any new cat food I give them.  CJ will go as far as to starve himself for days unless I break down and give him the crappy, cheap dry cat food from the big box store.  As a "kitty … [Read More...]
